I’m a West Chester Newborn Photographer, and I’m so excited to share this totally sweet milestone session with you today!

Stella was so sweet and happy for her 8-month milestone session. She was attentive and cheerful, and she just loved seeing her Mama. Her little baby smile was so contagious. And doesn’t she have just the most gorgeous eyes?! For this session, we were celebrating Stella’s latest milestone– sitting!

Milestone Photography Sessions

For milestone sessions, the star of the show is your sweet, growing baby! We focus on your little milestone-reacher, and for this reason, you’ll see that these sessions don’t typically include other family members. (Of course, we can work together to make a custom photo session that includes milestone photos, as well as family photos, etc.) I also include a milestone add-on session when you book a newborn session with me!

You may notice that this particular session was not done in a studio or outside like a lot of my other sessions. This session was done in my client’s home! For all milestone sessions, I give the option to either have an in-home session or a studio session. (Studio sessions do include a studio fee). All I need to make an in-home session work is a small portion of blank wall (about 4 feet long), then we can capture some great photos!

For Stella’s session, I had Mom right behind me helping to make Stella laugh and smile. But there are times when we might need to introduce some small, fun toys in the background to help keep their attention!

You might also notice that Stella’s session includes outfit changes! I love a good outfit change, especially for milestone sessions as it adds variety to the photos. This is great when we’re working with a simple background to mix things up a bit! Another way to add some visual variety is to introduce some simple props! Stella’s baby basket and sweet gingham blanket were perfect!

Babies Don’t Keep, but Photos Do!

One of the most important aspects of milestone sessions that I always include is an attention to detail! Babies grow up so fast! As the saying goes, “babies don’t keep,” so it’s all the more important to capture every little detail that you love about your sweet little one in pictures that you can keep. From the tiny little toes to the tiny little nose, we will capture every little thing. And as the name implies, milestone sessions are a wonderful way to commemorate your child’s milestones- sitting, crawling, walking.
