What to Expect on Session Day

You don't have to go anywhere, and you don't have to make your home "perfect" beforehand — truly. I've photographed nurseries mid-unpacking and living rooms with laundry still on the couch, and it never once affected the images. My job is to work with the space you actually have, finding the best natural light and the most meaningful corners of your home exactly as they are.
Sessions typically run 1 to 2 hours, and that time isn't just for photos — it's built around your baby's needs. We'll pause for feeding, soothing, and diaper changes whenever your baby needs them, with zero pressure to rush back into posing. If your baby gets fussy, that's not a problem to solve quickly; it's simply part of how newborn sessions go, and we'll slow down together until everyone's settled again.
Throughout the session, I'll guide you gently — where to sit, how to hold your baby, small adjustments to light and framing — so you never have to wonder what to do. If siblings or your partner are joining in, we'll weave those moments in naturally alongside quiet portraits of just you and baby.
By the time I leave, you won't have had to lift a finger to prepare or manage a thing. You'll simply have spent a calm few hours at home, together, while I quietly captured all of it — in the space where your baby's story is actually unfolding.

Most families book their in-home session within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are naturally sleepiest and easiest to settle. That said, every birth story is different, and sessions can always flex around your family's timeline, whether baby arrives early, late, or right on schedule. When to Book Your In-Home Session

Custom Frames Gallery Wall

Your newborn portraits deserve more than a place in digital storage — they deserve to be thoughtfully displayed as meaningful artwork within your home. Families searching for a full-service newborn photographer often want more than beautiful images; they want a guided, elevated experience that includes custom framing, gallery wall design, and heirloom artwork tailored to their space and lifestyle. From your design consultation through final artwork delivery, every detail is intentionally curated to create timeless pieces your family will enjoy for generations.

Where in my home do newborn photos take place?

Most in-home newborn sessions take place in just two or three rooms with beautiful natural light. The nursery, primary bedroom, and living room are often all we need to create a complete gallery filled with meaningful family moments and timeless newborn portraits.

What's Captured in an In-Home Session

An in-home session tells a story a studio simply can't — it's your nursery, freshly decorated and waiting; the rocking chair where late-night feedings happen; the soft morning light coming through your own bedroom window. If you have other children, we can capture them meeting their new sibling for the first time, right in the space where that relationship will actually grow. Even your family dog, curiously sniffing at this tiny new addition, becomes part of the story. These are the details that quietly disappear over time — the exact shade of the nursery walls, the blanket grandma made, the way your living room looked that first week home. An in-home session preserves all of it, so years from now, these photos hold not just your baby's face, but the whole world they were born into.

Sessions are designed to feel natural and connected, with just enough direction to help everyone settle in. We’ll focus on movement, interaction, and genuine moments so your gallery feels both polished and deeply personal. The result is a collection of images that looks beautiful and feels like you.

The experience

Your photographs deserve to live beyond the screen. From fine art prints to heirloom albums, your images can be preserved in beautiful, tangible ways that bring your memories into everyday life. These are the pieces you’ll reach for years from now and be grateful you kept.
