I’m a Miamisburg Newborn Photographer and I’m so excited to share this session with you today!

Baby Elijah came into the world a couple of months ago. I had the honor of working with his family for an in-home newborn photography session.

For Elijah’s newborn session, we did all of the photos in the nursery! This is one of my favorite places to do a newborn session. The nursery holds a special place in every parent’s heart! It’s the first space that you decorate for your baby while you’re waiting for them to arrive. So much love in the form of so many details are packed into this sweet little room. It’s where you sit and rock your baby to sleep, where you read countless stories and sing lullabies, where your little babe sleeps peacefully. It’s where every morning when you go to wake them in the morning, you see how much they’ve grown since the day before. The nursery is a special, magical place.

So, even though all the photos were taken in the nursery, we were still able to get a variety of photos. Especially because there was a full-size bed in here. This made it so that we could get a range of photos in a small room.

We got photos by the nursery chair and window, the family sitting by the crib, and everyone sitting in the bed! It is always really nice when we can keep it to one room. One room means only one room to worry about cleaning and getting ready!

While I typically try to get a range of photos of your newborn, including sleeping shots, Elijah just wanted to be awake and alert for his session! When we got to the end of the session (when I typically do some individual newborn shots), we tried to sooth him to sleep. But he wasn’t having it, so we followed his schedule and got some really cute awake newborn photos!

Going With the Flow

We were also able to capture some of his newborn details, from his tiny fingers and toes to his baby hair! There’s just nothing better than teeny, tiny toes!

The best part of an in-home newborn session is that it’s your home, your safe space. Don’t worry if your home is small, or an apartment, or not your forever home. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect or if it’s not all perfectly put together yet… We work with the space that we have, and the goal is to capture the magical moments you share with your beautiful baby. Nothing else matters! Just relax, and let me work- we will always be able to get some amazing photos!!
