Hi! I’m a Dayton newborn and Dayton Fresh 48 Photographer. Fresh 48 Photography is a type of photography that captures those first precious 48 hours of your baby’s life and your first magical moments together. Whether you have a home birth or a hospital birth, my job as your photographer is to come to you and capture some magic!

The best time for a Dayton Fresh 48 Photography Session would be during daylight hours. This can just include you and your newborn, or it can include your family members or loved ones meeting your new babe for the very first time! Whatever feels right to you, we will capture every perfect, little moment. And if you have any special requests, let me know! I’m happy to accommodate any little detail that is important to you!

Tips and Tricks for a Smooth and Successful Fresh 48 Session

Here are some tips for making your Fresh 48 session as smooth as possible! (And you can check out this blog post to see more photos of sweet, cuddly newborns!)

Try to feed your little one soon before we start your session. A full tummy will keep your newborn happy and calm. Dress your baby in something simple and comfortable! Just a swaddle is fine, too!

Don’t worry about being in the hospital, we will just embrace the setting! It is what it is, and I can take photos in such a way that the very sterile, “hospitalish” aspects of the setting won’t be noticable!

As for your outfits, wear something comfortable that you feel good in! It can be your hospital gown, or your own comfy jammies from home, whatever you like! The focus of your Fresh 48 Session will be the love and the joy of your newborn in their first hours of life.

And don’t worry about feeling tired or “out of it.” No worries! You just had a baby! You all deserve some grace and deserve to be just as you are. I’m good at what I do, and I will capture the beautiful, magical moments that you are experiencing. When you look back at these photos, you will only see your sweet, sweet baby and how you felt at the time won’t cross your mind.

What to Expect During a Fresh 48

As for what to expect for your Fresh 48, a Dayton Fresh 48 Photography Session typically takes between 30 to 60 minutes, but we have as much time as we need! Newborns sometimes have their own agenda, so we go with the flow. No rush and no worries!

As for booking, contact me as early as possible, and let me know your due date! As a Dayton Fresh 48 Photographer, I make your appointment a priority and I keep my schedule open for your Fresh 48! Just try to keep me in the loop.
