I’m so excited to share this Beavercreek Newborn Photography Session with you all today! This session was such a sweet one. Jon and Erin welcomed sweet baby Isla recently. A new family member is always a joyous occasion, especially when the sweet baby’s arrival has been so eagerly awaited.
The connection between big brother, Luke (5), and his new baby sister was so amazing to see. He loves his baby sister so much and he was so excited to get to hold her and love on her. In-home sessions allow everyone to feel comfortable, which is so important for the baby- but also for the older siblings! Sometimes, combining the excitement of a new baby with the whole production of getting dressed up and leaving the house to go to a new place for family photos can be too much for a child. So being able to stay in their own space and have someone come to them can help keep older siblings calm and comfortable. This in turn allows their personalities to come out, and I love to see it! (Check out another in-home newborn session with an excited older sibling here!)
As a newborn photographer, my main priority is to capture all of the newborn things. But I also love to include older siblings’ interactions with the new baby! It’s such a special bond and I love to see it. Of course, we also prioritize photos of parents with their baby and photos of the family as a whole.
For this session, we took several photos in the nursery, as well as in the master bedroom. The nursery is the perfect setting for newborn photos, especially since this is where the perfect little babe will spend so much of their time. However, in my experience, master bedrooms typically have great lighting and I love to take advantage of that. It’s also so convenient to work in the master bedroom… It’s a nice big room with a nice big bed- plenty of room for everyone!
I adored working with this family and I hope that you enjoy these pictures as much as I do!
