When’s the last time you had a Dayton couples photography session since becoming parents?

Life gets busy once you have children. I hear so many couple say that their last photos as a couple were on their wedding day! I totally get it- your time is taken up by taking care of your family… Cooking, cleaning, making sure every little detail of your loved one’s lives is taken care of. It can be hard to find the time to focus on you and your partner!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

I bet if we looked at your photos on your phone right now, there would be about 1,000 photos of your kids. Maybe a couple hundred of your furry friends. And probably just a handful of you and your partner together. And probably just one or two taken in the last six months.

No judgment here! It must be some kind of parental compulsion to take pictures of every adorable thing that your children do! Every moment is precious, and we feel the need to capture each thing so that we can remember it forever.

But it’s important to remember that every member of the family matters- including you! Take time for yourselves! Go on a date night, spend fifteen minutes talking to each other without phones after you get the kids to bed! Ask your photographer to take some pictures of the two of you!

One of my favorite things about being a family photographer is capturing all the little moments in your family during a session. This includes you and your partner!

With custom photo sessions (including newborn sessions), we can work in whatever other photos we want to! Including photos of the two of you without the littlest family members. Whether it’s a newborn session, a milestone session, a first birthday or whatever else- we can make it work.

It’s so important to take the time to do this; of course, your kids are special, but your relationship is important, too!

So when you book with me, we’re going to focus on all of you, not just your sweet babies. We will make the time for the two of you to feel special, and these photos will be beautiful mementos for you to cherish during the next long stretch.

Bring along a couple of distractions for your kids (the tablet with Cocomelon, snacks, whatever does the trick!), so that we can get a few shots of just the two of you together.
