This sweet family of four was an absolute pleasure to work with! And their pictures came out beautifully! Greyson, who is four years old, and Grant, who is one year old, are so adventurous! They love to explore, run and play. One of my favorite things about this session is that you can see how much this family enjoys being together. So precious!

HOW TO GET CHILDREN TO COOPERATE FOR FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS | Dayton Ohio Photographer

Working with toddlers and babies can be tricky, but you can rest assured that I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to get them to cooperate! (In fact, I have an entire blog post dedicated to working with toddlers!) One of my favorite tricks…… BRIBES! Yep, bribes. A favorite toy, yummy snacks or sweets, maybe hugs! Small treats like M&Ms or mini marshmallows work great. Maybe a HotWheels car or a favorite stuffy can work wonders, too. Whatever your little likes, we can use it to convince them to cooperate! This is totally normal!

Bribes can also be used to occupy your littles so that I can get some pictures of just you and your partner! This is a great trick, while your kids are busy, we can take some beautiful, romantic shots just for you.

Another trick that works fantastically…. giving your child freedom! Freedom to run and roam is usually a surefire way to get your wild child to take some beautiful photos! I love the look that we get with these running photos too- They perfectly capture the carefree spirit of your young one!
